The Bear Cafe sits aside a beautiful year-round stream. A lively bar scene, very nice wine list and by-the-glass, and well-prepared, creative dishes in an American eclectic style. It is arguably the best supper restaurant in the Town of Woodstock (it's located in the hamlet of Bearsville). It's crowded on weekends, mostly with weekenders from NYC, but it's very much a local hang on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. If you can't get a table, eat at the bar. The specials are always interesting, and the portions are quite generous.
