Red Hook is a little hard to get to. If you don't have a friend willing to drive you there, you can catch a downtown Brooklyn Bus (the B77 or B61 will both leave you a block or two away) but be careful staggering around the mostly desolate streets in the wee hours if you don't know your way around. If you can get here, Lillie's is a lot of fun. $5 all you can eat late night barbeques, live bands that sound like they stepped out of another era (think Hank, Johnny Cash, bluegrass & jug bands). You'll soon be using words like hootenany and lonesome and ditty while sipping your glass of small batch bourbon. The backyard garden is one of my favorite things about this bar, looking at the stars, holding hands with your sweetie, while the candle torches burn and someone throws a few more buffalo burgers on the grill.
